BEACON OF CARE

Support, Healing, and Hope About the Project Beacon of Care is a compassionate initiative dedicated to supporting individuals and families facing health challenges and social hardships. Through the generosity of donors, we provide access to critical medical treatments, healthcare services, and essential daily needs, particularly for those living in poverty or struggling with life-changing conditions. Our mission is to bring light to those in need, ensuring that no one is left behind due to financial or health challenges. We believe in creating hope, healing, and real impact for every person we support. STORIES OF IMPACT A: HAGAI A Life Transformed Hagai was only a young child when his life was threatened by a severe medical condition—a large and rapidly growing umbilical tumor. Day by day, the condition worsened, placing his life at serious risk. His family watched helplessly, knowing that without urgent medical care, Hagai’s future was uncertain. Poverty stood between this child and the treatment he desperately needed. CFI intervened at a critical moment. Recognizing the urgency of Hagai’s condition, CFI stepped in to act. Through our intervention, we identified and connected Hagai with a compassionate donor, Christa, who fully funded his medical care. Christa covered all surgical costs, post-operative follow-up care, and essential family support, ensuring that financial barriers would not stand in the way of Hagai’s survival. The day of surgery marked a life-changing turning point. What was once a medical crisis became a story of hope, coordination, and timely action. Today, Hagai is healthy, joyful, and thriving. His family, once overwhelmed by fear and despair, now looks to the future with renewed hope and dignity. Hagai’s journey powerfully demonstrates the impact of CFI’s intervention and the life-saving difference made possible through committed partners like Christa. Together, we do more than respond to need—we transform lives B: PRINCESS From Helplessness to Hope Princess was born with a serious spinal cord condition that left her unable to sit or walk. From her earliest days, her world was limited to lying down—day after day—completely dependent on her family for even the simplest care. A childhood that should have been filled with movement and play became a daily struggle marked by pain, frustration, and helplessness. For her family, the emotional and physical burden was overwhelming. They watched their daughter suffer, knowing they lacked the resources to give her the care she desperately needed. CFI encountered Princess during a community outreach visit. When our officers met Princess’s mother and learned about her condition, we immediately recognized the urgency. This was not only a medical issue—it was about dignity, mobility, and a child’s future. CFI intervened. Through CFI’s intervention, Princess was connected to a compassionate donor, Schrista, whose support made life-changing care possible. With Schrista’s sponsorship, Princess was enrolled in specialized physiotherapy at Sibusiso Institute, aimed at strengthening her muscles and improving her mobility. She also received a wheelchair, along with essential support such as bedding, food, and assistance for her family, helping to stabilize their daily life. Today, Princess can sit independently in her wheelchair—a milestone that once seemed impossible. While her journey continues, she now lives with greater freedom, dignity, and hope, and her family looks to the future with renewed confidence. Princess’s story powerfully demonstrates the impact of CFI’s timely intervention and the life-changing difference made through committed partners like Schrista. Together, we turn vulnerability into strength and despair into hope. C: NICODEM Nicodem’s story is a painful reality of what happens when poverty, neglect, and lack of medical access collide. After being hit by a car, Nicodem survived—but his leg was badly injured. With no money and no access to proper medical care, the wound was left untreated. What could have been saved early slowly turned into a life-threatening condition. The injury became severely infected. His leg started to rot. The smell was unbearable—a clear sign that death was slowly creeping into his body. People avoided him. Neighbors kept their distance. Even his own family, overwhelmed by fear, stigma, and the cost of treatment, abandoned him completely. Nicodem was left alone—homeless in his own life, living with unbearable pain, humiliation, and despair. He could not work. He could not walk properly. He could not even sit among people. With no support and no hope, he was waiting to die silently. This is when CFI officers intervened. When we saw Nicodem’s condition, we knew this was not just a medical case—it was a fight for life. We refused to turn away. We took responsibility when everyone else had given up. We urgently searched for a sponsor who could help save him before it was too late. That is when Lara stepped in. Through her support, Nicodem received full medical sponsorship—including a life-saving surgical operation, a full one-month hospital admission, and all necessary medications and care. After discharge, his recovery continued with six months of clinic follow-ups, fully covered. Because of this intervention, Nicodem is alive today. His story is a powerful reminder of why this work matters. At CFI, we do not just identify problems—we step in when lives are on the edge. We reach the abandoned, the rejected, and the forgotten, and we turn despair into survival. • This is the impact of partnership. • This is the power of compassion. • This is what saving a life truly looks like. Join Us in Transforming Lives At CFI, we step in when lives are on the edge. Stories like Hagai, Princess, and Nicodem show the life-changing power of compassion, timely medical care, and committed support. But for every life saved, many more are still waiting. By partnering with CFI as a donor or sponsor, you can help turn despair into hope, suffering into survival, and vulnerability into strength. Together, we can ensure no one is left behind—because every life matters.
